Position Summary
Amideast seeks professional English Language Instructors to deliver high-quality, General and Specialized American English instruction for military personnel as part of a U.S.-government–funded Military English Language Training (ELT) Program in Jordan. Instructors deliver intensive classroom-based instruction, assess student progress, provide academic counseling, and maintain required documentation in accordance with program standards. This position operates in a structured military training environment and requires professionalism, discretion, and cultural sensitivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver English language instruction based on the approved ELT curriculum (e.g., Defense Language Institute English Language Center or equivalent) in reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
- Prepare and execute lesson plans tailored to student needs, proficiency levels, and course goals.
- Assign, evaluate, and provide feedback on homework, quizzes, and assessments
- Assess students through formative and summative methods.
- Track, document, and report student attendance, performance, and academic progress in required student records.
- Provide feedback, academic counseling, and remedial support to students needing additional instruction.
- Participate in instructor meetings, professional development, and reporting as directed.
- Design and adapt supplementary instructional materials as needed to support curriculum and learning outcomes.
- Apply sound ESL/EFL methodology to support student development in reading, writing, listening, and speaking, and preparing them for required English proficiency testing and progression standards.
- Adhere to program, cultural, and professional standards appropriate to a military training environment, maintaining professional instructor–student relationships and complying with all program requirements.
